The cotton glove 40 g white is a thin and light knitted glove that is used e.g. in the installation of interior ceiling boards to protect the surface of the white acoustic boards from contamination during installation work and maintenance of the suspended ceiling boards. Acoustic ceiling panels are usually made of mineral wool and most acoustic panels are white. The surface of suspended ceiling boards gets dirty easily and since they usually have a ragged surface structure, they cannot be repaired by painting. In practice, a dirty plate has to be replaced with a new one, because the surface cannot really be shaken. Clean cotton gloves protect the surface of the ceiling tiles from dirt. Cotton gloves are also used in connection with cleaning, assembly or sorting to protect hands from contamination, when protection classes are not required for work gloves.
