  General Requirements S2

  The General Requirements result S2 in the standard EN ISO 20345:2011 indicates the specific protection level for safety footwear designed to ensure high-level safety standards at workplaces, including basic toe protection, anti-static properties, energy absorption of the seat region, water resistance, and fully enclosed heel. This result reflects that the footwear has passed tests for basic safety with additional resistance features, notably against water penetration, which is key in wet environments. The test involves subjecting the footwear to simulated wear conditions focusing on the heel's capability to absorb energy and evaluating the upper material's resistance to water penetration and absorption. This result ensures compliance with a higher protective standard than the basic requirement (SB), which only covers toe protection and is mainly relevant to industries where workers may be exposed to moisture, providing assurance of foot protection and contributing to increased productivity and safety in working conditions that involve water or dampness.

  General Requirements CR

  The standard EN ISO 20345:2011 encompasses general requirements for safety footwear to ensure they provide adequate protection in various occupational environments. Rating 'CR' signifies that the footwear has a cut resistant upper ensuring enhanced protection. The test method involves assessing the material's resistance to splitting or cracking under certain conditions, which simulates real-world industrial hazards involving sharp objects or surfaces. • CE Marking

These organizations set standards and requirements for food products to ensure they are safe to eat. To be considered "food safe" in Europe, a product must meet these standards and be free of harmful substances. This includes being free of harmful bacteria, pesticides, and other contaminants. Food products that do not meet these standards cannot be sold or used in the EU.
