• EN 407:2020

  Gloves and other hand protective equipment with the EN 407:2020 rating are tested for protection against heat and/or fire, including resistance to flames, contact heat, convective heat, radiant heat, and splashes of molten metal. This means you can choose products with specific protection levels to safely handle hot items, work near flames, or in environments with thermal risks.

  Burning Behaviour Level 4

  Offers the highest protection against catching fire when briefly touching a naked flame. The material resists burning and will extinguish itself almost immediately, giving you crucial time to react and stay safe from burns.

  Heat Contact Level 1

  This product provides short-term protection against contact with hot objects up to 100°C (212°F) for at least 15 seconds. It is ideal for brief handling of warm items in non-professional settings like home kitchens.

  Heat Convection Level 4

  Provides the highest level of protection against convective heat, which is the transfer of heat through moving air or fluids like steam. This glove significantly delays heat from a flame reaching the inside, ideal for industrial settings.

  Radiant Heat Level X

  This product has not been tested for protection against radiant heat, the invisible heat felt from a distance like near a furnace. Therefore, it does not have a certified performance level for this specific type of intense heat hazard.

  Metal Splash Resistance Level 3

  Offers high-level protection against dangerous molten metal splashes. Certified to resist a significant quantity of liquid metal, this product is ideal for demanding industrial work like welding or foundry tasks where splash hazards are a primary concern.

  Molten Metal Resistance Level X

  This product was not tested for resistance against molten metal splashes under the EN 407 standard. Therefore, it is not intended for use in activities like welding or foundry work where this specific hazard is present.

• EN 12477

  Welding gloves with the EN 12477 rating are tested for protection against molten metal splashes, flames, various types of heat, and mechanical risks. This ensures your hands and wrists are safely protected during welding, allowing you to choose gloves suited for either high protection or greater dexterity.

• EN 388:2016

  Protective gloves with the EN 388:2016 rating are tested for resistance against mechanical risks like abrasion, cuts, tears, punctures, and optional impact. This rating helps you quickly identify and choose gloves that offer the right level of protection for your hands during various tasks.

  Cut Resistance, Coup Test Level 1

  Provides minimal protection against cuts from a rotating blade under constant, low force.

  Tear Resistance Level 3

  Offers strong resistance against ripping, making the material durable against snags and tears.

  Puncture Resistance Level 3

  Withstands strong pressure from sharp objects like nails or thick splinters.

  Abrasion Resistance Level 3

  Provides good resistance against scraping, scratching, and rubbing on rough or abrasive surfaces.

  PPE stands for "personal protective equipment." PPE Category 2 refers to equipment that is more complex, and has a higher level of risk. Examples of PPE Category 2 include safety helmets, ear protection, and fall arrest equipment. In Europe, PPE Category 2 must meet certain safety standards set by the European Union, which means that it must be designed and manufactured to protect the user without causing harm. Companies that make or sell PPE must prove that it meets these standards. They also must have a quality management system in place and have to be audited regularly by a notified body.
