Virkon™ H - an optimal plant protection product suitable for use in empty greenhouses, warehouses and agricultural buildings. Wide application range Environmentally friendly Marked with the European ECOCert label Virkon™ S and Virkon™ H have different formulations. Due to differences in regulations and application requirements for the different areas of use of these products, different information is required and needs to be produced specifically to support product registration with ECHA. Virkon™ H is optimised with data and is the hygiene regulatory package for the horticultural market in PT 2. This includes packaging, efficacy reports, market specific applications for which Virkon™ H has different requirements in PT2 application areas. As a result, this product is managed separately and the technical data supporting Virkon™H is considered specific to this product. As such information is included in the individual regulatory approval by ECHA, the information cannot be used interchangeably. To make a safe choice when using disinfectants, use a product approved for the intended use. Virkon™H is intended for use in the food chain very close to the consumer, who may even eat the products directly. To make sure everything goes smoothly and that you only use what is allowed in greenhouses and horticulture, you should only use Virkon™H in this area. This will also keep you safe as a distributor in the market that you are only selling products that are allowed in greenhouses. Hygiene and infection control in greenhouses Pathogenic organisms may be present on surfaces and equipment, e.g. in greenhouses and food storage facilities, posing a health risk to staff and contaminating food, plants and animals. Infection control includes good hygiene practice - continuous cleaning and disinfection of all building surfaces, mobile equipment, footwear, vehicles and tools. Implementing best practice infection control reduces the risk of pathogens spreading to premises, equipment, staff and the food chain. Environmentally friendly plant protection product with ECOCert label Virkon™ H is a broad spectrum disinfectant that protects plants and associated organisms from viruses, bacteria and fungi in agriculture and forestry. Virkon™ H's acid-based chemistry contains simple inorganic salts, organic acids and surfactants. The active ingredients are degradable in a variety of ways, breaking down into naturally occurring substances in water and soil, potassium salts and acids. The main organic components are classified as readily biodegradable according to OECD and EU testing methods. Regular use provides effective protection against many families of viruses and bacteria, including tomato brown rot virus (ToBRFV). Virkon™ H can be used for cleaning and disinfection of buildings and equipment in plant/greenhouse production.
