Standards and labels
EN 1891:1998 is a European standard that sets the performance requirements and test methods for low stretch kernmantel ropes used in rescue operations, fall protection and climbing. It sets minimum requirements for the strength, elongation, and impact resistance of the rope. Test results must show that the rope meets these requirements, including resistance to abrasion, cutting, and UV light. The rope must also be able to retain its strength after being wet, and have minimal stretch under load.
CE Marking is a label that shows a product meets certain safety and environmental standards set by the European Union. To get the CE Marking, a company must test and certify their product meets these standards. CE Marking is required for many products sold in the EU, including electronics, machinery, toys and medical devices. It helps ensure that products are safe for consumers and the environment, and allows for easy trade within the EU.
