Standards and labels
EN 14594:2005 is a European standard that sets rules for devices called AEDs. AEDs are used in emergency situations to help restart a person's heart. The standard tells how AEDs should be built, how they should work, and what information should come with them. It also sets requirements for safety, effectiveness, and usability of AEDs. Tests must be done to make sure the AEDs meet the standard. If the AEDs pass the tests, they are considered good to use.
