EN ISO 17249:2013/AC:2014 is an amendment of the standard EN ISO 17249:2013. It defines the requirements and test methods for protective gloves used in thermal risks protection. It specifies the performance requirements for protection against thermal risks such as contact heat and flame. The requirements include resistance to heat and flame, and freedom from holes. The test results include the level of protection against thermal risks, and the results of visual inspection. It also includes test procedure for gloves and gives guidelines for the selection, care and use of gloves. It gives also the methods for evaluating the thermal risk protection properties of gloves and the performance levels that can be expected. The standard also includes the requirements for labeling and information to be provided by the manufacturers and suppliers of gloves for thermal risks protection. The amendment includes clarifications and technical modifications to the original standard.
