Standards and labels
EN 1276:2009 is a European standard for determining the bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas. It specifies a test method for determining the bactericidal activity of a chemical disinfectant or antiseptic against a reference test microorganism (Enterococcus hirae) within a 5 minutes of exposure to the disinfectant or antiseptic. The test requires a minimum of a 5 log10 reduction in the number of bacteria and the test results should be reported as a quantitative value. The disinfectant or antiseptic must pass the test in order to be certified as meeting the standard.
EN 13697:2001 is a European standard that specifies requirements and test methods for the performance of protective clothing against chemicals. The standard includes requirements for resistance to chemicals, safety and comfort, as well as tests for determining these properties. Protective clothing includes items like coveralls, aprons, and gloves that are worn to protect the wearer from hazards. Possible test results include resistance to penetration of chemicals, and resistance to degradation after exposure to chemicals. The clothing can be tested under different conditions to check if it meets the standard's requirements.
EN 13704:2002 is a European standard that specifies requirements and test methods for the performance of fire hose couplings. The standard includes requirements for strength, resistance to aging, and durability. Possible test results include maximum pressure and maximum flow rate. The couplings can be tested under different conditions to check if they meet the standard's requirements. The standard also includes requirements for the design, marking, instructions for use and maintenance of the fire hose couplings.
EN 1650:2008+A1:2013 is a European standard for automatic soap dispensers. It tells manufacturers how much soap should come out, how high the nozzle should be and how hard it should be to activate the dispenser. The test results should show that the dispenser meets these guidelines.
