Standards and labels
EN 140:1989/A1:1992 is a European standard that defines the requirements for the performance and testing of portable fire extinguishers. It sets requirements for the extinguisher's ability to extinguish fires, its durability and ease of use, and the accuracy of its labeling and instructions. Test results may include measures such as the extinguisher's fire-extinguishing capability, its ability to withstand impact and vibration, and its pressure-retention and leakage performance. However, this standard is outdated and replaced by newer standards, like EN 3 and EN 1866. It is an amendment to the original standard EN 140:1989.
EN 14387:2004+A1:2008 is a set of rules for breathing equipment used by firefighters and emergency workers. It tells what the equipment should do, how long it should last, and how easy it should be to use. To make sure the equipment follows these rules, it goes through testing. Possible test results include whether the equipment passed or failed the rules set in the standard.

CE Marking is a label that shows a product meets certain safety and environmental standards set by the European Union. To get the CE Marking, a company must test and certify their product meets these standards. CE Marking is required for many products sold in the EU, including electronics, machinery, toys and medical devices. It helps ensure that products are safe for consumers and the environment, and allows for easy trade within the EU.
