IVD stands for "In Vitro Diagnostics." It refers to tests or examinations that are done outside of the human body, usually in a laboratory. In Europe, an IVD label is a special label that must be on all IVD products that are sold or used in the European Union (EU). The label must include information about the product, such as the name of the manufacturer and the intended use of the product. To be able to sell or use an IVD product in the EU, the product must meet certain standards and requirements set by the European Union.
