Standards and labels

• EN 388:2016

  Protective gloves with the EN 388:2016 rating are tested for resistance against mechanical risks like abrasion, cuts, tears, punctures, and optional impact. This rating helps you quickly identify and choose gloves that offer the right level of protection for your hands during various tasks.

  Cut Resistance, Coup Test Level 1

  Provides minimal protection against cuts from a rotating blade under constant, low force.

  Impact Protection P – Passed

  This glove has passed an impact protection test for the back of your hand. It is designed to absorb and reduce the force from bumps and hits to your knuckles and hand, providing extra safety during demanding tasks.

  Abrasion Resistance Level 2

  Withstands moderate rubbing and friction, offering good protection for tasks involving handling rough materials.

  Tear Resistance Level 4

  Offers the highest level of protection against tearing, withstanding a strong force before ripping.

  Cut Resistance, ISO 13997 Level X

  Provides the highest level of cut protection, passing a specialized test for materials that dull blades.

  Puncture Resistance Level 3

  Withstands strong pressure from sharp objects like nails or thick splinters.

• EN ISO 21420:2020

  Protective gloves, mittens, and arm protectors with the EN ISO 21420:2020 rating are tested for general requirements like material safety, comfortable fit, and dexterity.   Ensures protective gloves meet general requirements for design, comfort, and safety. It guarantees the materials won't harm you, are sized correctly for better dexterity, and are constructed to be easily put on and taken off.

• EN 407:2020

  Gloves and other hand protective equipment with the EN 407:2020 rating are tested for protection against heat and/or fire, including resistance to flames, contact heat, convective heat, radiant heat, and splashes of molten metal. This means you can choose products with specific protection levels to safely handle hot items, work near flames, or in environments with thermal risks.

  Radiant Heat Level 2

  This product provides protection against radiant heat, delaying heat transfer for at least 20 seconds. It is suitable for situations where the hand may be exposed to sources of intense, invisible heat without direct contact with a flame.

  Metal Splash Resistance Level 2

  Provides hand protection against moderate splashes of molten metal, tested to resist up to 60 grams. Ideal for industrial work such as welding or foundry tasks where there is a risk of large molten metal splash.

  Burning Behaviour Level X

  This product was not tested for its resistance to open flames or burning behavior under the EN 407 standard. Therefore, it does not claim to offer protection against fire and should be kept away from naked flames.

  Heat Contact Level 1

  This product provides short-term protection against contact with hot objects up to 100°C (212°F) for at least 15 seconds. It is ideal for brief handling of warm items in non-professional settings like home kitchens.

  Heat Convection Level 2

  This product provides moderate protection against convective heat, which is the transfer of heat through moving air or fluids. It is suitable for tasks where you are briefly exposed to hot air, steam, or non-splashing hot liquids.

  Molten Metal Resistance Level 2

  Offers certified protection from large splashes of molten metal. This product is tested to withstand up to 60 grams of molten iron, providing safety for tasks like foundry work where significant splashes are a risk.

• PPE Category 2

  PPE stands for "personal protective equipment." PPE Category 2 refers to equipment that is more complex, and has a higher level of risk. Examples of PPE Category 2 include safety helmets, ear protection, and fall arrest equipment. In Europe, PPE Category 2 must meet certain safety standards set by the European Union, which means that it must be designed and manufactured to protect the user without causing harm. Companies that make or sell PPE must prove that it meets these standards. They also must have a quality management system in place and have to be audited regularly by a notified body.
